HIV Testing Reminders

Sexually active gay and bisexual men should regularly get an HIV test at least once a year.  Testing should be as frequent as every three months if you have multiple sex partners and don’t routinely have safe sex.

If you want to get an e-mail reminder on a regular basis, fill out the form below with your preferred e-mail address and frequency of reminders.

Remember, you can have HIV and not have any symptoms.   So getting into the habit of regular testing makes sense for most sexually-active gay men. Free, anonymous, and painless HIV testing is available at AIDS Project Rhode Island.

NOTE: If you have ever shared needles for any reason (i.e., drugs, steroids, hormones) and never had a HIV test, you should get tested for HIV now. You should also talk to your doctor about your current needle-sharing practices to learn how frequently you should get tested going forward. AIDS Care Ocean State operates a needle exchange program in Rhode and provides information on safe needle injection practices.
